Realisation of relevant cultural initiatives
The Second Call for Proposals was launched on Tuesday, 28th October, 2008 at the International Press Centre following the approval of new documents and launch strategy by the Steering Committee meeting at Akosombo. The launch was followed by special information sessions in the three northern regions. The purpose of the emphases on the three northern regions was to enable more quality applications from the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions. However, the PMU also decided to organise some information sessions in selected districts in the Eastern, Volta, Central and Western Regions to bolster the applications coming from there.
This was because nearly halfway through the “Call Window” very few applications were
coming through from those regions. Monitoring sessions were also held throughout the country following two major
meetings with the first grant winners in Kumasi (Northern Sector) and Accra (Southern Sector). The purpose of the two meetings was to establish a baseline for monitoring each project. At the meetings, snapshot reports of every project were written based on either written or verbal reports provided by the grant recipient. The subsequent monitoring undertaken by the PMU was to establish the baseline or to make amendments to the earlier reports. Reports are annexed to this report.
Annexes:
1. Report of Training Workshop for Administrators
2. Report of Training Workshop for Journalists
3. Report of Training Workshop on Crafts
4. Report from Monitoring of Grants Activities
